Puzzle with leaves – German Terminology

The leaf puzzle is not only a cute decoration for bedrooms, children’s homes and classrooms, but is also useful for learning by playing the nine most common leaf shapes. The base of the puzzle is also leaf-shaped, apparently a poplar leaf. The puzzle contains the following nine leaves: elm, poplar, ash, birch, maple, lime, beech, chestnut and oak. 

Some leaves are very particular and easy to recognize, such as the cloudy shape of the oak leaf or the pointed shape of the lime tree; other leaves appear more difficult to distinguish. When the child picks up a leaf, he can read the name of the tree on the underside of the base. 

Each leaf has a knob so it can be held with one hand and traced with the other with a pencil. The different leaf shapes are particularly easy to remember. Another learning method could be to have the child draw a leaf freehand, first with and then without the appropriate shape. 

The puzzle is light and fits in every bag. Why not put it in your bag and go into the woods with the kids? This way the leaves can be searched for, found, copied or pasted together as you wish. The more children learn about nature, the more likely they will be committed to protecting it. This is the right educational material to start preserving the environment
